module issues
The challenge
Ecotec needed a traceable record of module quality and barcodes across roughly 320,000 solar modules - inspected and reported at a pace where the only limit was how fast people could move on site, not process or paperwork.
The solution
Surya's digital twin was configured directly from the site's CAD drawing, with every module selectable and linked to its barcode and any field-verified issues. Ecotec's teams could see in real time what had been inspected, what was next and where QC crews needed to be - with quality and barcodes captured as the work was done, so crews kept moving with confidence.
The result
Component-level traceability at a scale disconnected tools couldn't match: a fully auditable, digital quality record for every module, built as the work happened rather than reconstructed afterward.
lower labour costs, by Ecotec's estimate, compared with alternative module scanning technologies and its previous spreadsheet-based punch-list process.

“We went from planning it, to implementing it, to fully executing it - and at every step, Surya adapted to what we actually needed on site. That's the Surya we know today - a tool we can consistently rely on to solve our on-site challenges.”
